At 903 Boylston Street, the room that was the Irish pub Lir for 17 years now serves dim sum. Lir closed in 2020, and Zhu began its soft opening there on September 28. A short walk west, at 1114 Boylston, a sign for Achilito's Taqueria hangs over a pizzeria address that dates to 1968. Back toward the Prudential Center, the steakhouse at 888 Boylston closed in July after eight years, and talk about its next tenant started almost immediately.
Almost none of Boylston's new food this fall is going into new rooms. The street is refilling spaces that already had long runs, and the arrivals are moving at different speeds. LPM has been serving since late September, Daily Provisions is scheduled to open Wednesday, November 4, and Zhu is still in soft opening. Achilito's has reached a city licensing hearing, and the next tenant at 888 Boylston is known only from an Instagram post. A single walk from Copley toward the Fenway edge passes all five stages, so it's worth knowing which door is which before you pick one for dinner.
Where Each Address Stands This Week

From east to west, the addresses run from scheduled to only rumored. The Copley end has a firm date, and the farther you walk toward Massachusetts Avenue, the more of the street is still in progress.
501 Boylston Is the One With a Date
The Boston Globe reported on October 23 that the Back Bay branch of Daily Provisions, at 501 Boylston Street, was slated to open Wednesday, November 4. It's the latest Boston expansion for Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, the New York company behind Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack. The Globe described the menu as all-day breakfast, crullers, picnic-worthy sandwiches and, true to the name, provisions. Boston already has two branches, in Harvard Square and the Seaport, so the Back Bay shop extends a format many Bostonians already know.
Daily Provisions' own locations page now lists Back Bay at 501 Boylston, but it doesn't post hours for this branch yet. The brand says it's open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check the listing before planning around a Monday breakfast in the first week or two.
Of the five rooms, this is the only one with a firm date and a known menu. It's also the easiest to fold into a weekday morning near Copley.
The Middle Mile: Hotel Dining and a Soft Opening
West of the Prudential Center the pace changes. Just off Boylston on Dalton Street, LPM Restaurant & Bar opened September 24 inside the Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street. Boston.com reported that the restaurant, known in London as La Petite Maison, seats 80 and is the brand's second U.S. location. It joins Trifecta and Zuma, which were already open in the building. Head chef Gabriela Guitron told Boston.com that the escargot, pan-seared, baked in butter, roasted and brought to the table with a crusty baguette, is the dish to order:
"It's garlicky, it's yummy. The recipe has more than 20 ingredients in the mix, so it really takes the escargot to the next level."
LPM is the only arrival on this stretch that didn't inherit a tenant's history. It's a new room in a hotel that has been building up its own restaurant row.
Zhu, at 903 Boylston, is the other extreme. Boston Restaurant Talk first reported plans for the restaurant the previous fall. On September 28 it noted that Zhu had begun a soft opening, focused on Chinese seafood and dim sum, with beer, wine, cocktails and spirits. Hours that day were 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. On October 1, Boston.com still described it as in soft opening. Soft-opening hours can change day to day, so before a group dim sum lunch, look at Zhu's Instagram for the day's hours.
The room's history is part of the story. Lir held that corner for 17 years, then closed in 2020. Six years later, the space is serving food again.
West of Gloucester, the Street Is Still Paperwork
The next two addresses are where "new on Boylston" stops meaning a place you can book.
At 1114 Boylston, in the 02215 stretch where Back Bay meets Fenway, Achilito's Taqueria is taking over the former Little Steve's Pizzeria. Boston Restaurant Talk reported in August that the original Little Steve's ran there from 1968 until closing a few years ago. A revival under different owners opened in spring 2025 and shut around the start of 2026. Achilito's already runs locations in Forest Hills in Jamaica Plain, Harvard Square and Patriot Place in Foxboro. The likely menu covers tacos, burritos, quesadillas, flautas, enchiladas and tostadas.
The clearest sign of where it stands is a city document. The City of Boston's transactional hearing agenda for October 14, 2026 lists Achilito's common victualler application for 1114 Boylston as a quick-service restaurant. The proposed hours are 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. If those hours hold, this end of Boylston gets a late-night counter for after games and late shows.
Back at the Prudential Center, 888 Boylston is the street's biggest open question. Boston Restaurant Talk reported in July that Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse had closed there. The Seaport location stays open. What Now Boston then reported that Din Tai Fung, the Taiwanese chain known for soup dumplings, was preparing to take the space. The report was based on a local photographer's Instagram post that Mayor Wu reposted. It also said the restaurant would need Licensing Board approval and that no opening timeline had been announced. If it happens, it would be Din Tai Fung's first Massachusetts location. The closest one now is in New York. The chain's official locations page doesn't list a Boston restaurant. For now, treat 888 Boylston as a dark room with a well-known rumor attached.
Planning a Week Around It
Since each room is at a different stage, the street makes more sense one meal at a time:
- Weekday breakfast or a sandwich to go: Daily Provisions at 501 Boylston, once its hours are posted.
- A dinner worth booking ahead: LPM at One Dalton, starting with the escargot.
- Dim sum with friends: Zhu at 903 Boylston, after checking the day's soft-opening hours.
- Watch for later: Achilito's at 1114 Boylston and whatever ends up at 888 Boylston.
Three of the five tenants this fall are moving into rooms with long first lives behind them. That history lasted 17 years at Lir, eight at Del Frisco's, and back to 1968 at Little Steve's, and it's what Boylston is rebuilding on.
